Dolforwyn
Castle
as an example for CADW
(
use the arrows to navigate). The model was based on information provided by the archaeologist who excavated the site and is accurate to this data. The resultant photomontage view gives a true representation in terms of scale and perspective of the original castle. The Carew Cross example is a “virtual restoration” of the existing cross. Much of the original intricate Celtic knot-work has been eroded away. The model provides illustrations of the knot-work and how the cross might have looked originally. 3d models such as these can be animated to illustrate the spatial and detailed quality of the original items.
